Scott Field, 61, former mayor of Calvert and for many years, president of the Calvert State Bank, died in a Houston hospital Sunday afternoon. Mr. Field had gone to Houston for treatment last week from his home in Bryan.
Mr. Field was born in Calvert and lived there until three years ago when he moved to Bryan.
Funeral services for Mr. Field were held at the Episcopal church in Calvert Monday afternoon with Rev. Scott Field Bailey of Nacogdoches officiating. Interment was in the Calvert cemetery.
Mr. Field is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nonie Field; two daughters, Mrs. W. T. McDonald of Bryan and Mrs. Donald S. King of Austria; two brothers, Tom Field of Bryan and Eugene Field of Calvert.
