Eva Mae (Brawley) Thomas was born on December 24, 1935 in Shelbyville, Bedford County, Tennessee, and she was the daughter of William Brawley (1912–1991) and his wife Katie Pearl (Anderton) Brawley (1915–1951).
She was a 1953 graduate of Clarksville High School in Montgomery County, Tennessee, and was married to Leonard Allan Thomas (1932–20 Feb 2023), and he was the son of Leonard "Amos" Thomas (1892–1973) and his 1st wife Erma Inez (Barbee) Thomas (1902–1939).
Eva began her nursing career at Clarksville Memorial Hospital and later worked for the private practice of Dr David Williams until her retirement. She was a member of Forest Street United Methodist Church. Always taking care of her family, friends and patients. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, baking and cross stitching.
Living in Clarksville, she was 87 years old and a widow when she passed away on October 4, 2023.
Eva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and by her sister Elizabeth Davis, while survivors included six children, four sons-in-law, a McElfrish sister, Brawley brother, nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
Celebration of Life Services were held on October 12th at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home, and burial was in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Clarksville.
