David Angle Hagerman, D.D.S., was born on December 5, 1906 to Minnie Prucha and David Hall Hagerman. He graduated from the old Houston High School and the University of Texas College of Dentistry. On November 12, 1930 he married Noima L. Clay. During his life he was a devoted sportsman, being an active trapshooter at the Houston Gun Club, founded by his father-in-law, John D. Clay, a deer hunter and Fleet Surgeon at the Houston Yacht Club. David also enjoyed his gardens and clubs, The Houston Orchid Society, The Philosophical Society, the Model Railroad Club and professional dental organizations.

During World War II, he taught doctors at the University of Texas Medical Center in Galveston, Texas, being considered to old to enlist. His professional career included Professor at the University of Texas Dental School and numerous published articles in professional journals on his research in dentistry.
