Pauline J. (Leger) Dilling, 85, of 104 Blaine Ave., died Sunday, April 13 at UMASS Memorial, 119 Belmont St. in Worcester after a long illness. She was the wife of Bernard E. Dilling who died in 2005. She leaves five daughters: Gayle P. Snow of New Hartford, CT, Joanne M. O'Coin and her husband Fred, Louise A. Meyerdierks and her husband Michael, Nancy J. McComas and her husband William, and Jane B. Foresteire and her husband Edward, all of Spencer; two sisters: Joan G. Bedard and Therese L. Archambeault, both of E. Brookfield; 16 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by a daughter, Donna A. Marrs in 1998. Pauline worked as a customer service representative at Masterman's in Auburn for 13 years, retiring in 1992. Born in E. Brookfield, she was the daughter of John J. and Louise (Hebert) Leger and was a life long resident. She graduated from David Prouty High School in 1940. She was a member of St. John the Baptist Church. She served on the E. Brookfield School Committee for 27 years, was a member of the Post 3439 VFW Auxiliary in N. Brookfield, Charter member of the Boulette-Skyten American Legion Auxiliary Post 386 in E. Brookfield, So. Spencer Community Club, and a 30 year member of the E. Brookfield Baptist Church Bible Study Group. She was a former town election warden. She was a member of the Lashaway Senior Citizen's Club and secretary for 10 years and a member and past Chaplain of the Spencer Chapter of A.A.R.P. She was an avid crocheter and gave lessons in her home for many years. The funeral will be held on Thursday, April 17 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in St. John the Baptist Church, No. Brookfield Rd., E. Brookfield. Burial will follow in Evergreen Cemetery, E. Brookfield. Calling hours are Wednesday, April 16 from 4 to 7p.m. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to either St. John the Baptist Church, No. Brookfield Rd., or E. Brookfield Ambulance Fund, P.O. Box 356, both E. Brookfield, MA 01515.
