ROGERSVILLE - Evan Ferrell, 84, of 922 Brummitt St., died Tuesday evening in Doctor's Hospital in Morristown after a long illness.
A native of Hawkins County, he was a member of the West View Baptist Church and was a veteran of World War I. He was the recipient of the Presidential Citation for Meritorious Service in Europe. Ferrell was employed as a military policeman at Oak Ridge for several years.
Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Bernice Dusel and Mrs. Mary Buelah Herman. both of California, Mrs. Ruth Walter, Kingsport, and Mrs. Susie Slovick, St. Petersburg, Fla.; two sons, James (Monk) Ferrell, Rogersville, and Carroll Ferrell, Hyattsville, Md.; 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and one sister; Miss Mary Ferrell, Rogersville.
