William Elza 'Bee' Thomas Dunn was the second oldest child (of ten children) of William Harrison Dunn and Sarah C. Brenner Dunn.

Born in IN, the family migrated from IN to KS in the early 1870s. While the father never lived in OK TY, his sons, Bee, John, and Dal took care of his cattle interest in OK TY.

Controversy surrounds the killing of Bee. Often associated with the Doolin Gang of OK TY in the late 1890s, Bee was killed in Pawnee, Pawnee County by Frank Canton. The truth may never be known as to how Bee was actually killed or who was the faster on the draw.

Eva Cotts Dunn, Bee's wife, who died January 11, 1921 was buried next to Bee in an unmarked grave. Three of Bee's brothers would name their sons after him in respect and admiration.

Got shot and the Ingalls didn't want buried here. He was a cattle thief. And was suppose help but ended up getting shot
Frank Canton was sheriff at Pawnee and shot Bee Dunn for the reward. Canton later went on to Lincoln county wars with Billy the Kid in New Mexico
