Mary Katherine Irwin, 72, formerly of Center, entered into rest April 11, 2008, at her home. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Ora Lee McCandless.

She is survived by three children: Marsha (Terry) Jeffries of Edmonton, Janan (Randy) Scott of Cave City, Kelly (Teresa) Irwin of Glasgow; eight grandchildren: Angie (Tim) Schueler of Atlanta, Ga., Missy (Larry) Lemmon of Edmonton, Britt Jeffries of Edmonton, Jason (Kenetha) Scott of Bowling Green, Nick Scott of Cave City, Katie Irwin and Nathan Irwin of Campbellsville, Miranda Robinson and Matthew Underwood of Glasgow; six great-grandchildren: Ellie and Anne Claire Schueler of Atlanta, Lucas, Lakota, and Katherine Lemmon of Edmonton and Kailyn Scott of Bowling Green. She is also survived by one sister: Carolyn Young of Knob Lick; one brother: Bobby (Inez) McCandless of Glasgow; a sister-in-law: Shirley McCandless of Tompkinsville; brother-in-law: David Atwell of Lexington; several nieces and nephews; and a special friend, Edgar Martin of Edmonton.

Besides her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Chester Irwin; three brothers, James Douglas, Phillip and Wallace McCandless; and one sister, Bonnie Sue Atwell.

Burial was in the Asbury-Center Cemetery.
