Betty Lou Arbogast, 83, of Bloomington, died at 7:30 a.m. Saturday (July 15, 2006) at her residence.
She was born Nov. 24, 1922, at Auburn, to Chester and Marie Bryan Hammerlund. She married Dean O. Arbogast on April 18, 1943, at Normal. He survives.
Survivors also include two sons, James (Lana) Arbogast, Monument, Colo., and William (Dianne) Arbogast, Streator; two daughters, Janet (Daniel) Tutko II, Forsyth, and Susan Arbogast, Phoenix, Ariz.; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
Betty graduated from University High School, Normal, in 1940. She earned her B.S. and M.S. in education from Illinois State Normal University. She was a schoolteacher and taught for more than 20 years in the Streator School District, retiring in 1988.
She was an avid golfer and former Bloomington-Normal Women's Champion. She was a member of the Kappa Delta Sorority.
