Lessie May Franks-O'Keefe was born in Bienville Parrish, Louisiana, on 25 March in 1906 to Joseph Andrew Franks and Susan Ladora Crossland. She was married to Orville O'Keefe of Rosston, Arkansas, and had two sons: Buddy J. O'Keefe and Charles R. O'Keefe. She later moved to Camden, AR with her family where she remained for the rest of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother with a warm heart that loved to cook. Her recipes are still shared by family members today.
