Son of Elijah and Sarah (Lane) Bradbury. Elijah was a Revolutionary soldier and saw action in several major battles. He married Ann Maria Knight of Calais in 1815. Through his mother Jabez was a relative of Col. Isaac Lane, and perhaps in consequence, settled at Salmon Falls.
