Charles was born near Hamilton, MO, February 17, 1925, and lived in the K.C. area most of his life. He was an Army veteran of WWII, receiving his honorable discharge from the service in February of 1946. He met and married Billie Iddings in August of the same year. He worked nearly 39 years for Sears Roebuck and Company retiring in March of 1987 as shipping and receiving manager. He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years Billie in 2006. He is survived by his daughters, Georgia Dorsch and Valerie Bell and husband John, five grandchildren of whom he was very proud, Scott, Nathan, and Rebecca Dorsch, Nicholas and Alyssa Bell, and three sisters, Mary Gurley, Edith Morrison, and Charity Blake.
