He was born on September 13, 1939 in Terrasini, Italy (Sicily).
Barry immigrated to Canada in his early 20s and went on to Michigan where he met his future wife, Patricia Amato. They married in 1965 and had three children, Maria, Martha, and Barry Jr.
He earned his contractors license and had his own successful business installing doors and windows. He was a master carpenter and flipped houses throughout the years with his son, Barry Jr.. Barry enjoyed the challenge of fixing and creating things. He was a woodworking artist, and exceptional at his trade.
Barry and his wife, Patricia, retired to Florida, where they both enjoyed traveling. Barry was a devoted husband until his wife passed away in 2010. Barry was known for his incredible work ethic and drive, a positive attitude and fun loving spirit. He enjoyed spending time with his family, swimming, kayaking, fishing, and wood carving. In the rare times that Barry wasn't active, he enjoyed watching professional wrestling, history, and science programs.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Amato-Lucido; his parents, Maria Maniaci-Lucido and Salvatore Lucido; his sister, Rosaria Napoli (Giuseppe); and his parents-in-law, Joseph Amato and Martha Amato.
Barry is survived by his daughters, Maria O'Brien (Paul) and Martha Romine (Tracy); his son, Barry Lucido, Jr. (Michelle); his grandchildren: Emily O'Brien, Samuel Romine, Jonah Romine, Sadie Romine, and Barry Lucido, III; his sister, Graziella Balsamo; his brother-in law and sister-in-law Paul DiTrapani (Mary); and a host of nieces and nephews.
The funeral services will be held in Hillsboro Memorial Funeral Home and Gardens. The burial services will be held at Hillsboro Memorial Cemetery in Brandon, FL.
