William D. "Bill" Krueger, age 75, of Newton passed away on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at Froedtert Holy Family Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc.
Bill was born November 11, 1947 in Manitowoc, son of the late William G. and Caroline (Caflisch) Krueger. He was a graduate of Lincoln High School with the Class of 1965.
On June 3, 1972 he was united in marriage to Joyce(Joy) Schuette.
Bill worked as a bartender at Stocks Dinner Club, worked at AH Stock Manufacturing for 51 years, was an active member of the Newton Volunteer Firefighters, a lifelong member and resource person for the Manitowoc County Small Animals Committee, the Chicken Man and face behind Krueger's Kluckers. He held both the office of President and Treasurer of the Wisconsin International Poultry Show last held at the Columbia County Fair Grounds.
As well as chickens, Bill enjoyed his family, hunting and fishing. Bill just loved a good story and could tell them for hours. He loved having the Grandkids around and gave them some really good advice from someone old enough to have lived in the last half, of the last Century, of the last Millennium.
Survivors include his wife: Joy Krueger; his children: William A. (Haileigh) Krueger and Kay Ann K. (James) Veltus; his grandchildren: William Dane Krueger, Landon Joseph Krueger, Oliver Martin Krueger, Elliot Frey Veltus and Aurora Joy Veltus; his brothers and sisters: Patricia (Tom) Peterik, Rose Marie (William) Lutzke, Kevin Krueger and Krystal (Bradley) Pagels; his In-laws: Anna White, Wayne Schuette, Norma Kumbalek and Richard Swearingen; as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents William G. & Caroline Krueger, a brother and sister Carol Ann Swearingen & infant brother Dean, and his In-laws: Mathew White, Diane Schuette, James Kumbalek, Joy Krueger and Dale Schuette.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 20, 2023 at The Lakeshore Family Funeral Homes, Pfeffer location (928 S. 14th St.), Manitowoc. Burial will take place at the Cassa Cemetery, Cleveland at a later time.
The family will greet relatives and friends at the funeral home on Friday, October 20, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the services.
