Donna J. (Helmerich) Davis, 77, of Huntingburg, passed peacefully at 5:00 a.m., on Thursday, October 12, 2023, at St. Charles Health Campus in Jasper. She was born August 20, 1946, in Evansville to Gerald and Mildred (Schroeder) Helmerich.
Donna was a 1964 graduate of Huntingburg High School and married Duane Davis on June 29, 1974. She was a seamstress and designed and sewed wedding dresses for two of her family members. She loved her family and enjoyed cooking meals for them made with her special ingredient – love. Donna also loved animals and was always there for those that needed some love or snuggles. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Duane; brothers, Rick and Greg Helmerich.
She is survived by her son, Gerald Davis of Katy, Texas; a stepdaughter, Donna Newman of Buchanan, Michigan; brothers, Sherrel (Gail) Helmerich of Nashville, Indiana, Phil (Brenda) Helmerich of Huntingburg; sister-in-law, Ruth Helmerich; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Donna Davis will be held at 11:00 a.m., E.D.T., Thursday, October 19, 2023, at St. Paul UCC in Holland with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Pastor Debbie Roe will officiate the service. Visitation will be held at the church from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
