Burnett, James H. (Pops, Jim) Age 85, passed away Tuesday, September 7, 2021 with his daughters by his side. Preceded in death by wife Mary Jo (G-Jo), parents, sister and nephew. Survived by daughters Carrie (Dave) Kuehl and Amie (Laura) Burnett; Grandchildren Winnefred (Alex Mandel), Maxwell, and Molly Kuehl; many other relatives, chosen family, and friends. Loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Co-owner of The Elegant X in Wayzata, he continued to share his fashion expertise after retirement, solicited or not. He was an exceptional volunteer throughout his life. He was an avid gardener and Master Gardener volunteer intern who used his skills at the Southdale Y and in many of our home gardens. He was a lover of all things social - dining out, music, theater, Silver Sneakers, bridge - any activities that included time with friends and family. Jim and his family wish to thank all his caregivers at North Memorial Hospital for their kindness, care and support. A Celebration of Life (Party) will be held at a future date. Private interment Lakewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Mary Jo Burnett Memorial Scholarship Fund at Headway Emotional Health Services, 6425 Nicollet Ave, Richfield, MN 55423; Extension Master Gardener Program Fund, 200 Oak Street SE, Suite 500, Minneapolis, MN 55455; or to the donor's choice.
