MOCKSVILLE - Mrs. Bertha Viola Spaugh Allen, 64, of Spillman Road, died Sunday, May 17, 2009, at Forsyth Medical Center. She was born June 19, 1944, in Forsyth County to the late Harvey L. and Jessie Earn Whisenhunt Spaugh. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother. Mrs. Allen is survived by her husband, Billy Wain Allen, of the home; a daughter, Penny (Gary) Boner of Advance; a son Tim Allen of the home; two grandchildren, Clint and Jessica Boner; two sisters, Margie Collier and Frances Varner, both of Mocksville; three brothers, Robert Spaugh of Yadkinville, Ralph (Helen) Spaugh of Booneville and Marvin (Jo) Spaugh of Mocksville; brothers and sisters-in-law, John (Doris) Allen of Welcome, Grady (Pat) Allen and Ronnie (Kathy) Allen, all of Mocksville; special cousin, Frances Ellis of Yadkinville; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Thursday, May 21, at Eaton Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Allen Barker officiating. Interment will follow in Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 20, at Eaton Funeral Home. They request that memorials be considered for American Cancer Society, 4-A Oak Branch Drive, Greensboro, NC 27407.
