Thelma (Tucky) Runyon Lewis Abel, 87, of Tampa, Florida since 1966 and formerly of Fredericksburg, Virginia, passed on to be with God on Saturday, 23 Sept 2023. Tucky was born on March 3, 1936 to Thelma Runyon and Magnus Muse Lewis Jr., at their home on William Street in Fredericksburg, Virginia. All of her formative years were spent with her family in Fredericksburg. As a child, Tucky excelled in Dance, Music and Equestrian Arts. She attended college at Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky and graduated. She joined Charles Abel in marriage on 27 December 1958 and moved to Tampa, Florida in 1966. She chose to expand her family by birthing three children and managing the home until all three of her children began High school. She then became a retail professional until retirement. The enhancements in her life included being members in: The National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, The Huguenot Society of America, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, The United Daughters of the Confederacy, Clowns of America International, and the Tampa Women's Club. She is survived by her Sister Tomi Reneau, daughter, Eliza Susan Fisher and Oldest Son Charles Owens Abel Jr. and three Grandchildren: Anthony Fisher, Melissa Fisher, and Charles Abel III, five Great Grandchildren, Ezra Fisher, Eli Ledford and Abel, Maia and Georgia Fisher. She was preceded in Death by her parents, Thelma and Magnus Lewis and Loving Husband of 52 years, Charles Owens Abel, and Son, Magnus Murry Abel. She will be fondly remembered for her love of reading, crocheting, and spending time with family. An interment service will be held at The Palma Ceia United Methodist Church, 3723 W. Bay to Bay, Tampa FL, on 22 Oct 2023 at 1:30 p.m., followed by a luncheon buffet. Mom always believed in giving a live plant or tree to be in Living memory, she would like the same.
