Della Steib Inness, 91, passed away on Tuesday, October 17, 2023. Born July 31, 1932, she was a native of Vacherie, LA.
Family and friends are invited to attend services Friday, October 20, 2023, beginning with visitation at 8:30 am and Catholic funeral Mass at 11:00 am, followed by Christian Burial at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church in Vacherie.
She is survived by her son, Conrad David Inness (Janice) and daughter, Cindy Inness Waguespack (Albert Jr.); sister Jane Steib Tregre and brother Norman Steib; grandchildren Ashley Inness (Liz), Megan Oakley, Brandon Inness (Katie), Sheri Broussard (Brett), Albert Waguespack III (Bobbie), Steven Waguespack (Codi), Michelle Teasley (Eric), Andree Davis (Eric), Lindsay Roundtree (Brian), Brittany Landry (Will), and Mark Gravois (Maggie), along with her 26 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Edna Amedee Steib; brother, Edward Steib (Irene); daughter Sonia Inness Gravois (Denis).
She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who was a faithful servant of the Lord attending weekly adoration, singing with the choir of Our Lady of the Peace, and supporting the work of the World of Hope Foundation.
Della worked for many years as a florist at La Petite Flower Shop and Wag-A-Pak II, in Vacherie, and was a member of the Catholic Daughters Court of Notre Dame de la Paix # 2316.
She was a natural caretaker for her family, especially to Sonia, Denis, and their children. You could find her in the stands cheering on her grandchildren or enjoying a day of shopping with her daughters.
She will be missed by many.
