Colleen R. Barrett passed away suddenly on October 13, 2023, from complications of Covid. She was born February 13, 1959, in Syracuse, NY.

Colleen was predeceased by her parents, Charles and Rita Barrett. Her siblings Eva Barrett, Melissa Barrett, and Reid Barrett, a nephew Joseph Nanno, and great niece Brielle Nanno are survivors. Colleen was largely responsible for raising her younger siblings and later caring for her parents until they passed.

Colleen graduated from the class of 1977 at East Syracuse Minoa High School. She was a past employee of Mutual of New York.

Colleen lived many years in Fulton, she was currently President of the Fulton Reading Circle, a past member of the Fulton Friends of the Library and the Readers by the River. Colleen was an avid reader along with being a skilled embroiderer, she had many entries in the NY state fair. Colleen had also been involved in the Fulton Quilting Bee. She was also a member of the Lunch Bunch at Manittia's.

Colleen enjoyed football games and loved her companionship cats, Rosie and Coco, who entertained her while she read.

Calling hours will be held from 11am to 1pm on Sat. Nov. 4, 2023. A gathering for friends and family will take place at the Community Room at Clinton Plaza apartments, 550 South Clinton St., Syracuse, NY 13202 from 2pm to 5pm.
