Charles D. Allen, 43, Herndon Storekeeper, Dies At Home Here
Charles D. Allen, 43, for 21 years a storekeeper at Herndon, died at his home, 2940 Grant avenue, yesterday. He was a native of Pennsylvania and is survived by his wife, Mrs. Anna Allen. and daughter, Miss Marian T. Allen, both of Fresno; his father, T. S. Allen of Pennsylvania, and a brother, Walter Allen, of Camden, New Jersey. He was formerly a member of Fresno lodge of Elks and funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Stephens & Bean chapel under the auspices of that lodge. Burial will follow in Mountain View cemetery.

FORMER LOCAL MAN DIES IN CALIFORNIA
News of the death of his son, Charles D. Allen, of Fresno, California, last Saturday morning, was received here this morning by Thomas A. Allen of 308 Hodgson street, this city. The deceased was born and raised in Washington County, going in 1906 to the coast where he made his home. He was in his forty-fourth year. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon, with interment in the Mt. Zion cemetery. at Fresno. Surviving are his wife; one daughter; and his mother and father. Four brothers, Walter of New Jersey and Harry, Lloyd and Russel of this city, and two sisters, Mrs. Stella Hall, of Akron, Ohio, and Mrs. John Volk, of Donora, Pa., also survive.

Married Anna Mary Openshaw, daughter of John Openshaw and Elizabeth Mitchell, on 26 Oct 1905 in Finleyville, Washington County, Pennsylvania. Had daughter Marion Thelma Allen.
