He was son of Hezekiah Grant and Abigail Gilbert, direct desc of Matthew Grant, England to Dorchester, MA in 1630 on the "Mary and John", and they removed to Windsor, CT. about 1636/7.
He married Sophia Bailey Wilcox, on 30 June 1819 in Great Barrington, Berkshire Co, MA. (Massachusetts Marriages 1633-1850), and Great Barrington, MA Vital Records, pg 34.
