Bobbie B. Payne passed away on October 21, 2023. She was born in Knoxville, TN to Rufus Noel and Icie Mae (McClanahan) Brooks on September 15, 1937. Her husband of 59 years, Frank, preceded her in death on June 30, 2023.

Bobbie worked at Indiana Bell as a telephone operator until she resigned to raise her family. She was a volunteer tutor at Marion Community Schools for many years. Bobbie loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed trips to Las Vegas and Tuesdays at the casino with her dear friend, Carole Brooks.

She will be missed by two children; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by three brothers - Rufus Noel Jr, Charles and William; and five sisters - Anna Mae, Velma, Martha, Mary Ruth and Jean.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Serenity Chapel at Gardens of Memory with Pastor Steve Johnson officiating. The family will receive visitors beginning one hour prior to the service.
