Eula Mae Benoit, age 97, of Lake Charles, Louisiana passed away on Sunday, October 22, 2023. She was born May 9, 1926 in Hathaway to Teles Simon and Mary Fontenot Simon.
Eula Mae was a resident of Lake Charles for the majority of her life and was living at Tower Oaks Apartments for 13 years and was loved by everyone from the residents to the staff who all became her friends and family. Eula Mae will be missed dearly. She remained faithful to husband who passed away in 1981. Eula Mae was a true Cajun, was passionate about attending the Cajun Music Association Lake Charles Chapter and enjoyed jitter bugging to the Cajun Music.She was extremely proud to say one of her family members was soon to be inducted into the CMFA Hall of Fame.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Cynthia Fruge; grandson, Mark Robert and three granddaughters, Lisa Ellender, Renee Rhodes and Alaina Ellender.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Harding Benoit and daughter, June Ellender.

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Hixson Funeral Home of Lake Charles on Wednesday, October 25, 2023 beginning at 9:00 a.m. A Celebration of Life will be held in the funeral home at 1:00 p.m. led by her friends Hixson Celebrant Jody Barrilleaux and Harbor Hospice Chaplain Shelly Young Burial will follow at Consolata Cemetery.
