Maxine was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil N. Cook and her daughter, Lauralea Maxine Cook. She is survived by her sons James R. Cook and wife Mary Jane, and Richard N. Cook and wife Mary Inis; granddaughters, Melissa Hasselmeir and husband Kirt, and Karla Nast; grandsons Mark Woodward and wife Dawn, Richard Nash Cook, Jr., and Shannon R. Cook and wife Tracy; 9 great grandchildren; her sister Wanda Malik and husband Frank in Kents Store, Virginia. Maxine and Cecil Cook were charter members of River Oaks Baptist Church. Maxine spent over 40 years as the church Librarian. She was one of the founding members of the Women's Auxiliary for the Houston Bar Association. Wherever she traveled, she always took her golf clubs. An avid golfer, she played golf for over 50 years.
