She was the widow of Thomas Charles Jones.
Virginia was born in Eldorado on March 23, 1928, the daughter of the late Robert and Grace (Smith) Ashby.
She was a member of Eldorado Church of God.
She worked as a nurse at Eldorado Nursing Home before retiring.
Virginia is survived by a son, Tom (Judy) Jones of Kentucky.
She is also survived by grandchildren, Tammie (Gabe) Dickson of Oregon and Jacob (Teri) Bruce of Kentucky; and six great-grandchildren, Ashley Dickson, Erik Dickson, Dylan Dickson, Aubrey Dickson, Kailey Connely and Zoe Bruce.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, James R. Ashby; and two sisters, Pauline Higgins and Lorene Karns.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2008 at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home with the Rev. David G. Mays officiating. Burial Will be in Wolf Creek Cemetery. Friends may call 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008, at Colonial Terrace Funeral Home Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Eldorado Church of God and left at the funeral home.
