MARIETTA -- Mrs. Miriam Frances Trippe, 91, died Aug. 29.

She was born in Morrow and completed Bessie Tift College in Forsyth. She was the widow of Judson Rayford Trippe Sr. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Wadley, Vidalia and Marietta and the Daughters of the American Revolution.

SURVIVORS: a son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Judson Rayford Trippe Jr. and Mary Ellen Trippe of Marietta; a brother, George Murphy of Connecticut; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

SERVICE: 11 a.m. today at First Baptist Church in Marietta.

GRAVESIDE: 11 a.m. Friday in Pinecrest Cemetery in Vidalia.

On September 16, 1973 the Vidalia First Baptist Church celebrated Miriam Trippe Day in honor of Mrs. Trippe's twenty-three years as church pianist on the occasion of her retirement.

Mr. Trippe was married June 29, 1931 to Miriam Murphy at Morrow. She graduated from Tift College in Forsyth with a Bachelor of Arts degree, taught school at Forest Park, and now teaches piano in Vidalia. She is a former organist at the Baptist Church, and is now assistant organist and active in church work, as is Mr. Trippe who serves as Deacon.

Her parents were Joseph D. Murphy, a merchant and postmaster of Morrow, and Sarah (George) Murphy of Rockdale County, Georgia. Both her parents are deceased.

Mr. and Mrs. Trippe have a son, Dr. Judson R. (Jud) Trippe, Jr., born January 13, 1935, who received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Emory University, and a Doctor of Medicine Degree from the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta. In 1960, he married Mary Ellen Miller of Atlanta, Georgia, and they have two children, Mimi and Judson R., III. Judson R., Jr., is now a Captain serving in the United States Army, assigned to the hospital at Ft. Chaffee, Arkansas.
