Ralph Ray Brown, age 98, of Naples, Florida, formerly of New Castle, passed away the morning of October 20, 2023, at AdviniaCare Assisted Living in Naples.

Born July 9, 1925, in New Castle, he was the son of Harry M. and Hazel (Baker) Brown. He was preceded in death on March 12, 2021, by his wife of 74 years, Dorothy M. (Anderson) Brown, whom he married February 1, 1947.

After his high school graduation, he attended the International Correspondence School. He enlisted in the US Navy during WWII from 1944-1946 where he served in the Pacific Theater as a Seaman 1st class.

Ray made a career of 40 years with Penn Power Company where he was a Distribution Field Engineer until his retirement in 1986.

He was a member of the Lodge of the Craft #433, Valley of New Castle Scottish Rite and member of the former Second Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and elder. Among his varied interests he enjoyed traveling, playing shuffleboard and cards and spending time with his family.

He is survived by one daughter, Cheryl J. (Bryan) Zeigler of New Castle; one son, Russell R. (Nanette R.) Brown of Medina, Ohio; 5 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers, Kinzie, Gerald, Cecil and Earl Brown; one sister-in-law, Nancy Brown.

A Memorial Service will be held at the convenience of the family.

Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Sandy Lake, PA.
