Shirley Lucille Levitt, age 79, of Decker, MI passed away peacefully with family by her side Monday, September 9, 2019 at United Hospice Service of Marlette Regional Hospital in Marlette, MI.
She was born November 11, 1939 in Detroit, MI and lovingly adopted into the home of Howard and Ida (Dafoe) Levitt on March 12, 1940. Shirley graduated from Marlette High School with the Class of 1958. She worked at McKenzie Memorial Hospital in Sandusky, MI as a Medical Transcriptionist for 45 years. Shirley loved spending time with her family, especially her grandsons, friends and classmates from school. She enjoyed shopping, music and dancing, listening to James Taylor music and meeting her friends at Kayla's in Hemans, MI and Rosebud's in Clifford, MI.
Shirley is survived by her daughter, Abby (Calvin) Bodeis; grandchildren, Anthony and Michael Bodeis; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Howard and Ida Levitt.
The family will receive visitors from 4 – 8 PM Friday, September 13, 2019 at Marsh Funeral Chapel - Marlette and from 10 AM until time of the service on Saturday.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Marsh Funeral Chapel - Marlette with Pastor Mike Hollenbeck officiating.
