James Graham was the son of John and Mary Graham .

He was born in Bushmills Co. Antrim, Northern Ireland.

James married Sarah Anne Lamont in Bushmills, on the 21st May, 1914.

Sarah Anne known as "Nan" is the younger sister of Margaret Jane Lamont

After his return from WW1 James and Sarah along with their daughter Mary Margaret left Ireland and emigrated to New Zealand.

He was a gardener for many years and had retired in Hororata, near Christchurch.

James suffered terribly with mental health problems due to things he had seen during the war.

Sarah and James were divorced on 29th January, 1929.

In 1951 James moved to Rannerdale War Veterans Home.

James Graham, died in Christchurch Public Hospital on 22nd March 1951.

(To the best of my knowledge James is burried in the Soldiers Portion of a Lawn Cemetery. I think this is in Christchurch or Timaru.)

(Family believe Jamie was born in 1892 which would have made him 59 years when he passed away, however the hospital stated he was 66 years of age and his inquest report states he was 67)

Siblings:

William who was killed in action during WW1 by a German mine.

George who married Nellie.

Annie

Mary Jane

Many thanks to Martha Lowe who is a very kind and thoughtful person, for sponsoring Williams memorial.
