Fall Off Utility Pole Is Fatal
Injured in a 30-foot fall from a utility pole yesterday, Alfred Bergeman, 30, 0f 6657 N. Green Bay Av., died in St. Mary's Hospital Last night.
Bergeman, a lineman for the Electric Co., lost his grip while working on the pole in an alley between N. Bartlett and N. Oakland Avs. Near E. Kenmore Pl. in Shorewood, according to police.

Man Fatally Hurt in Fall From Pole
Falling 30 feet from a utility pole, Alfred Bergeman, 35, of 6657 N. Green Bay av., was fatally injured Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred in the rear of 4079 N. Oakland av. Bergeman suffered a skull fracture and a punctured lung. He died Wednesday night in St. Mary's hospital.
According to Shorewood police, Bergeman, a lineman for the Electric Co., apparently lost his grip as he climbed the pole to repair a transformer.
Surviving Bergeman are his wife, Lorayne; seven children, Bruce, Susan, Sandra, Joann, David, Ralph and James; his mother, Mrs. Olga Bergeman; a sister, Mrs. Evelyn Hubbard, and a brother, Robert, all of Milwaukee.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Froemming-Boecher funeral home, 101 E. North av. Burial will be in Graceland cemetery.
