Jerry Neal Turnage, 81, of McComb, MS., passed away at the Southwest Regional Medical Center in McComb on March 15, 2017 following a lengthy illness.

Visitation will be Friday March 17, 2017 from 9 AM until services at 11 AM at South McComb Baptist Church. Rev. Ted Bowlin and Rev. Jeff Van will officiate and burial will be in Reeves Cemetery. Hartman-Jones Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry was born August 10, 1935, in Pike County, MS. He was the son of the late, George Reecie and Esther Reeves Turnage.

Jerry was retired from the Illinois Central railroad, served in the U.S. Army and was a member of South McComb Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was a very active Christian man who loved his Lord and is now resting in his presence. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He loved his family and his church. He always made it a point to make every child feel loved regardless of where he met them. He will be sadly missed by those who knew and loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Jerri Lynn Turnage.

He is survived by his wife of sixty three happy years, Willie Fay Turnage of McComb, one son, Greg Turnage and his wife, Missy of Summit; two brothers and their spouses, Buster and Louise Turnage, Tommy and Patsy Turnage; three grandchildren, Haley Turnage, Gary and (Tori) Havlin and Gage Havlin; two great-grandchildren, Ryan and Linleigh Stockton of Summit

Pallbearers will be the Deacons of South McComb Baptist Church
