Richard Roy Blake, Jr. 65, of Salem, WV, departed this life on Monday, October 1, 2018, at his residence. He was born on February 11, 1953 in Clarksburg, WV, a son of the late Richard Roy and Mary Ruth (Dotson) Blake.
He was a graduate of Doddridge County High School with the class of 1971 and earned his Bachelor of Science Degree in Business from Fairmont State University. He was a proud veteran of the US Army during the Vietnam War era and he worked as a manager in retail sales. He greatly enjoyed making knives, hunting, and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Jamie (Carroll) Blake; brother, Ernie Blake (Cathy) of West Union, WV; niece, Jennifer James (Mike); nephews, Justin Blake and Jeremy Blake (Monica); 6 great nephews; 2 great nieces; aunt, Agnes Smith of Parkersburg, WV; uncle, Oliver Dotson (Sherry) of River View, FL, along with several cousins. Funeral services will be 1pm, Friday October 5, 2018, at the McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, WV with Pastor Joe Schneider officiating. Burial will follow in West Union Masonic Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5pm-8pm on Thursday, at the funeral home.
