Janet is a direct descendant of Mayflower passengers William Brewster (9th great granddaughter) and John J. Howland (10th GG granddaughter). She is also my sister-in-law.

Janet (Bulman) Lawton, 69, of Abington passed away peacefully surrounded by her daughters on Thursday evening, November 2, 2023 in Norwell, MA. Janet was born on 13 August 1954 in South Weymouth where she was also raised. She graduated from South Weymouth High School Class with the class of 1973. The following year she and William Lawton were married on 19 Oct 1974 in Weymouth. She was married to her best friend for 43 years until his passing in 2017. They settled in Abington where they raised their 3 girls and created countless fond memories. Janet worked as a Unit Coordinator at Brockton Hospital for many years and was a dedicated member of Holy Nativity Church.

Family meant everything to Janet. She was often referred to as the neighborhood "kool-aid mom" and was everything to everybody, especially her children. She selflessly dedicated her time to her daughters, from Girl Scouts to Little League and everything in between. She had a way of making simple moments special, from annual camping trips to magical Christmas mornings, she poured her heart and soul into being a mom. That of course extended to her 3 grandchildren, who were her pride and joy. Janet also loved quilting/sewing ,gardening and took pride into making her house a "home" She lost a piece of heart after the death of her youngest daughter and faced many medical challenges throughout the years following. She faced it all with strength and resilience. She never gave up hope.

Janet was predeceased by her husband William "Bill" Lawton. Devoted and loving mother of Jill and her husband Michael of East Bridgewater, Jenn and her partner Sarah of MN, and the late Bethaney Lawton. Cherished "Mimi" of Ava, Ryan, and Olivia. She is survived by her siblings Richard (Joan), Judith (late Frank) and Carol (Bruce). Devoted sister in law to Doreen(Raymond) and Gerard(Carolyn). She was predeceased by her parents, Bartlett and Jean Bulman.
