Charlotte was born in New Castle, PA to Richelieu and Elizabeth Rice and married Rudolph Battistone on September 11, 1948. They spent 60+ years together and built a life filled with family and friends until he preceded her in death in 2009.
Charlotte is survived by her children Steven (Dawn) Battistone, Ann Battistone, and Ellen (Mustafa) Shraim. Grandchildren; Nick, Dan, Sam Battistone, Rasmia, Samer, and Malik Shraim; Great Grandchildren; Theo and Ellie Battistone. Also survived by niece Shirley Kuhn, and many other nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
Charlotte arrived in Cincinnati in 1945 as a new student at the Christ Hospital School of Nursing. She graduated from that institution on September 9, 1948, and married Rudy two days later. She served as a surgical nurse at Christ for many years, took some time off to raise her family and then retired from the endoscopy department at The Christ Hospital in 1992.
Family and friendships were of utmost importance to her. She remained close with her immediate and extended family throughout her life and developed close personal relationships with several friends over the years. She had many friends because she was such a great friend.
Services for Charlotte will be held on Saturday April 15, 2023, from 11:00 AM until 12:00 at The Arlington Memorial Gardens Lakeside Mausoleum Chapel (2145 Compton Road, Cincinnati Ohio 45231- Follow the Red line once you enter the cemetery gates)
In honor of Charlotte's life, memorial donations may be made to Gospel City Mission, 1805 Dalton Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45214.
