Kathleen was born in Portland, Oregon to E. Fred and Frances Paulsen.
She grew up in the Eastmoreland neighborhood of Portland until attending Oregon State University. While there, she met her future husband Donald Adams and completed a bachelor's degree in education. Marrying right after graduation, she accompanied Don through his military service until settling in Salem, Oregon to raise a family. Eventually, they returned to the Portland area (Milwaukie), where they continued to raise their family and support them throughout their lives.
Kathleen was a long-time member of St. John the Baptist Parish, volunteering with various groups such as YLI, St. Francis Guild, Eucharistic Ministry, both at mass and to homebound. She had a love of sewing and other crafts, often donating the items she made to various organizations. Her other love was spending time with family, gathering them together to celebrate holidays, beach vacations, and family picnics. Kathleen loved traveling to places both in and out of the US with Don, taking in as many sites as possible.
Kathleen is survived by her husband, Don of 68 years, children, Richard Adams, Susan Williamson, Bob Adams, Pat Adams and Carol Childs. She is also survived by her 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
