Stanley Thomas Nolan Sr, PhD, a native of Mississippi and a longtime resident of Fowl River AL, peacefully passed away on November 1, 2023 surrounded by family and friends. Dr Nolan is a veteran of The United States Air Force. He retired as a Physics Professor from The University of South Alabama after 30+ years of service. He was was also a member of the Fowl River Area Community Association (FRACA). Dr Nolan was preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Carrie Nolan; his wife of 53 years, Barbara Schuler Nolan; his siblings, Lois Shields, Geneva Bishop, Clarisse Switzer, Arthell Kelley, Charles Kelley, Harold Kelley, and LaSonia Wintzell; and his daughter Margaret "Beth" Bachmann. He is survived by his three children, Ray (Marcia) Nolan, Richard (Nelda) Nolan, and Stan (Dot) Nolan, one son in law, Vern Bachmann, seven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, four great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, and other relatives. Per Dr Nolan's request, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF), PO BOX 851752 Mobile AL 36685. Arrangements are by Cottage Hill Memorial Funeral Home, 7158 Cottage Hill Road Mobile AL 36695.
