LEIPSIC – Alan R. Benton, 66, of Leipsic, passed away at 2:20 p.m., Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at his residence surrounded by family. He was born September 26, 1957, in Lima to the late Ross and Lucille (Schmitt) Benton. He married Cathy Fenstermaker, who survives in Leipsic.

Other survivors include three children: Jeffrey (Angie) Benton of Orlando, FL, Andrew (Kim) Benton of Pandora and Daniel Benton of Napoleon; eight grandchildren: Deniz, Nicholas, Jacob, Carter, Annabelle, Alyus, Corinne and Marshall; and two siblings: Cindy (Tim) Grothause of Pandora and Kevin (Lisa) Benton of Leipsic.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Beverly (Jim) Siebeneck.

Alan retired from Campbell Soup, Napoleon and was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic. Alan loved spending time with his family, watching the Cleveland Browns and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Funeral Mass will begin 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 11, 2023 at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Leipsic with Fr. Randy Giesige officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Ridge Cemetery, Leipsic. Visitation will be from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Leipsic.

Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
