Adalberta came to Merced in 1878 and a few years later married Juan Salazar, and had two sons, Marion T and Osbaldo Salazar, both of whom had passed by her death. When a widow she married Crispin Avalos and had several children but only two survived her death; Mrs M F McCabe of Los Angeles and Michael J Avalos of Merced. Crispin died in 1894 in Colima. She was a respected and esteemed lady.
