Phyllis Kiyo Unosawa, 81, of Edgewater, passed away unexpectedly but peacefully at home January 27, 2013. After earning her masters degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Phyllis enjoyed a long career as a graphic artist and archivist at R.R. Donnelly. A veteran mezzo-soprano and contralto, she performed with the Grant Park Chorus and St. James Cathedral Choir. Beloved sister of Jeanette (the late Kuni) Nakamura of Seattle, devoted aunt of many. Preceded in death by parents James Makoto Unosawa and May Kimiyo Unosawa (nee Hayakawa), and sister Marion (Ken) Murakami. Services at a later date in Seattle.
