A.L. "Larry" Larimore, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the age of 83, at Cox South Hospital. He is preceded in death by his parents Dr. Harold and Ruth Larimore and his brother David Larimore.
Larry was born on October 14, 1940, in Springfield, MO. He was an Eagle Scout and a graduate of Parkview High School. He attended Drury College before he served in the United States Army as a medical specialist stationed at West Point and Frankfurt, Germany.
Following his military service, Larry embarked on a successful career in finance and banking. He retired as the compliance officer of Great Southern Bank in 2008. Larry was an active member of the Elks Lodge and the Scottish Rite (32nd Degree Freemasonry), as well as the Director's Staff of the Abou Ben Adhem Shrine.
Larry was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Springfield, MO. He served as Senior Warden and a long-time usher.
Larry is survived by his wife, Tammy Larimore; his children, daughter, Kelly Lewis and her husband Lynn Lewis; son, Mark Larimore and his wife Carmen Larimore; daughter, Dr. Aubrey Larimore-Vargas and her husband Reggie Vargas; and son, The Rev. Collin Larimore; as well as six grandchildren, Zachary Atterberry, Whitney Hollan, Chelsea Harper, Madison Larimore, Brooklyn Larimore, and Hazel Larimore-Vargas; four great-grandchildren; sister, Cynthia Bennett and her husband Dr. Robert Bennett.
