Captain Allan L. Moyle (78), Civil Engineer Corp, USN, Retired. Allan went to be with the Lord on Monday November 6, 2023, in Jacksonville, Florida. He was born in Hancock, Michigan to Alvin and Emma Pearl on November 21, 1944.

Allan graduated from Hancock High School with honors in engineering. He received his bachelor's degree with honors in civil engineering from Michigan Technological University where he was a member of Tau Beta Pi Fraternity. He received his Master of Science degree in engineering from the University of Michigan. He was a registered professional civil engineer in the States of Michigan and Florida.

Allan joined the US Navy in 1967 and after a distinguished career, he retired in 1991. His tours of duty included Great lakes, Illinois, Pensacola and Panama City, Florida, Yokosuka, Japan, Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, Viet Nam, Washington, D.C., and Charleston South Carolina. He received many recognitions, medals, and achievement awards for excellence in teamwork and productivity both in the military and civilian work.

At the time of his death, he was employed as a resident engineer at the firm of Eisman & Russo, Inc. in Jacksonville, Florida. He directed the staff of project engineers, inspectors, resident compliance officers and was an office engineer consultant to the Florida Department of Transportation. He enjoyed working with a great group of friendly and professional associates.

He will be remembered as a loving son, brother, father, grandfather, great grandfather, professional associate, and a caring friend to many. He was an avid golfer, and an avid reader. He enjoyed his huge collection of turtles of every shape and size. He was known for his generosity, his kindness and for putting a smile on faces with his many jokes. He was known to family and many as "Papa M&M" because of his never-ending supply of M&Ms.

Allan was preceded in death by his parents, his son Craig Allan Moyle, his brother, Robert and his wife Gloria, his sisters, Ora Norine (George) Mattson, Bernice Moyle, nephews Richard and Thomas Moyle and Louise Master devoted companion for twenty-seven years.

Allan is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Moyle, Linda Johnson the mother of his children, granddaughter Coral Brooke Huovinen (Eric), grandsons Cove Moyle (Brittany), Coast Moyle and mother of his grandchildren Christi Moyle (Stephen), great grandchildren Emric and Ember Huovinen , nieces Diane (Robert) Larsen, Janet (Terry) Simula, Susan (Dan) Casey, Jacalyn DeGroot, nephews Robert Mattson, Bruce (Lynn) Mattson, Roger (Becky) Moyle and numerous nieces and nephews.

"God has Allan in His care. We have Allan in our hearts."

A Military service in his honor will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, at 11:30 AM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218. Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home.
