Dick was the son of Hiram Randolph and Pelona Lingo "Lona" [McElwreath] Bingham. He was the grandson of Green Berry and Martha "Rush" Bingham. He was unmarried.
Young Dick stayed with his Grandma McElwreath while recovering from typhoid fever during the 1890 epidemic which took his mother's life.
Dick broke horses for a living. He was a ranchman on the J.T. Baker Ranch near Garvin, Texas in the Fort Stockton area. He also repaired windmills and according to family legend, Dick fell off a windmill that he was working on which caused his death, however, his death certificate #8638, gave his cause of death as heart failure due to chronic nephritis.
