Note: his last name may not actually be Barber! The image in the old family bible is very blurry, and that is my best guess based on the letter shapes. (Could be Barton, or Bonham, etc.) But it definitely started with "B." The middle name is also not readable, though it certainly begins with "D."

Adopted son of Col. Asa Case Dickinson. May have been the son of his wife, or an orphaned nephew of hers or something, as their family bible states George D. was adopted "Dec. 1827" in Richland, Oswego, NY (he was born there). That is the same month--2 Dec 1827-- that Asa Dickinson married his wife, Minerva Holmes. George D. likely died in New York, or in Michigan near Detroit where his family moved after leaving Richland, Oswego, NY (though he does not appear on any censuses with them).

There is a marker in the family plot marked "G.D.B."--this is his stone.
