William Clarence Needham, called Bob, was born to Elijah Huston Needham, Jr, and Mary Elizabeth Jordan Needham in Montgomery County, North Carolina around 1871. He married Miss Christian Ann "Crissy Ann" Freeman (daughter of Jesse Freeman and Sarah Saunders) on 9 Aug 1891 in Little River. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America, a society that predated the well-know Woodmen of the World organization.
Bob and Chris Ann had nine children born between 1892 and 1909 who grew up in the Ether, NC area. Tragically, Bob died in 1913. leaving Chris Ann to raise their children. One on those children was my grandmother, Laura M Needham Cochrane who lived much of her life in Star, NC. I have not been able to find Bob Needham's death certificate or prove his exact date of birth or cause of death.
