Rebecca Bradley was the daughter of Dr. John Bradley and Sarah Amanda Avaritt who at the age of twenty- nine became Col. Lotte William Humphrey's first wife on Feb 23, 1856, in Richlands, Onslow County, N.C. His father's plantation in Onslow County adjoined the Averitt property and her father wrote a book The Old Plantation before the war.

To this union only one child was born:
1) Eliza Hill Humphrey (1857-1883), who was first wife of Senator Furnifiold McLendel Simmons

According to Colonist of Carolina in the Linage of Hon. W.D. Humphrey, she died in 1858.
