Dale Waite Hitchings, 85, of Benton, Arkansas passed away June 11, 2023. Born on September 23, 1937 in Mt. Clemens, Michigan to the late Douglas and Mary Hitchings. Dale worked hard in his younger years finishing high school, then going on to college to earn his degree to become an electrical engineer. He worked very hard for many different manufacturing companies over the years. Although he was a working man, he loved his family very much, being a grandfather was one of his proudest accomplishments. He loved sports, especially the St. Louis Cardinals. Dale was a man of God, an active member at First Baptist Church in Benton and enjoyed volunteering in the Church Joint Counsel on Human Needs. He is survived by his wife, Susan Hitchings; sons, Scott Hitchings and Mark Hitchings (Sheila); stepchildren, Bob Kimsey (Melissa), Beth Mathys (Billy); grandchildren, Peyton Lewis (Mitch), Paxton Hitchings (Alex), and Taylor Hitchings; great-grandson, Callen Lewis; sister, Janet Swegheimer (Howard) and a host of other extended family and friends. Dale is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ann Hitchings; brother, Alan Hitchings and stepdaughter, Kim Harness. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 14, 2023 at Roller- Alcoa Funeral Home (6700 Alcoa Rd. Benton, Ar. 72015) with visitation an hour prior to the service. Interment will be at Carlisle Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. The family ask in lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church Benton, Arkansas Youth Ministries or a charity of your choice.
