Donald Golden was the son of John Robert and Minnie Clyde Purdy Golden. He was a life-long resident of Colony, Missouri where he raised his family and farmed for a living.

On March 5, 1936 he married Jessie Lillian Gardner in Edina, Knox, Missouri. They had three children: Virgie Lee, John Paul, and Charles Mark.

Donald had a great enthusiasm for life. He loved his farming life-style, tractor pulls, horse races, playing cards and telling jokes. He loved "visiting" with neighbors and exchanging farming stories. In later years when cancer was taking its toll, he was an avid reader of Louis L'Amour westerns.

He was a member of Colony United Methodist Church and is sorely missed by his family and friends.
