He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Nancy Nadine (Caldwell) Lavey; mother, Zelma E. Lavey of Bradford; son and daughter-in-law, John Dean and Michelle Lavey of Bradford; two daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela and Ed Maxwell and Paula and Carl Hoeflich, all of Bradford; nine grandchildren, Blake and Amy Maxwell of Troy, Paige Maxwell, Ciara Lambert, Sophia Lavey, Molli Lavey, Rachel Lavey, Rebekah Lavey, and James and Heather Maxwell, all of Bradford, and Rob and Kara Maxwell of Piqua; four great-grandchildren, Jett Maxwell of Troy, Robbie Maxwell of Bradford and Justin Maxwell and Lucas Maxwell, both of Piqua; brother, Larry Lavey of Pleasant Hill; and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father; granddaughter, Rachel Maxwell; and infant sister, Loretta Lavey.

He was a graduate of Bradford High School, Class of 1954 and was a member of the Army National Guard, Covington. He retired with 33 years of service from B.F. Goodrich, Troy, and was a member of the Greenville Creek Christian Church, Bradford.

Funeral services will be at noon Monday at the Stocker-Fraley Funeral Home, Bradford with the Rev. Dave Cummings and Lance Amburgey officiating. Interment will be at Greenville Creek Cemetery, Bradford.

The family will receive friends from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
