Irene Miller Haun was born on May 11, 1920 to Emby and Rosa Miller in Jellico, Kentucky. She departed this life Thursday May 9, 2019 at Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center Corbin, KY.

Irene was raised in Williamsburg, KY where she was the second eldest of five children: Fred, Naomi, Roy, and Raymond. She met and later married Coyt Haun June 20, 1941 and to this union was born one child, Coyt, Jr. who died at birth.

Lovingly known as Aunt ‘Rene’, Irene had a sweet and caring spirit. She always showed concern for her family and would often call just to say hello and to see how they were doing. Irene was never selfish with her time and talents. She always shared what she had, whether surprising her nieces with beautiful quilts and blankets, sending cards, or sharing plants from her garden with her family and community.

Irene was a faithful member of Riverside Church of God. Always full of energy, Irene could be found walking to the local community center, fellowshipping with friends, making beautiful knit or crochet accessories and embroidered blankets, or tending her garden. Although retired, Irene continued to work the election polls for the city of Williamsburg. She was the oldest poll worker for the city.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Emby and Rosa Miller, husband Coyt Haun, son Coyt, jr and three siblings and spouses, Fred (Phyllis), Naomi (Donald), and Raymond (Emma). And sister-in-law Dorothy Miller.

She leaves to cherish her memory, brother Roy Miller of Columbus, Ohio and cousin Beatrice Mackins. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins, and her entire church and community family and friends.

The family would like to thank Noel and Martha Perez for watching after and tending to Irene’s needs over the last several years. And to the Corbin Hospital, Williamsburg Nursing home and Corbin Health and Rehabilitation Center for taking good care of Irene during her illness.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Riverside Church of God with Rev. Randall Halcomb officiating. Interment will be in the Miller Family
