He was born April 10, 1930 in Pottawatomie County, OK to Jesse Maynard and Leoto Izora (Thompson) Sharp.
He graduated from Asher High School in 1949.
Bernard married Nella Lou Knight November 27, 1957.
In March 2001, Mr. Sharp married Wanda June Terry of Shawnee. He was a Faithful member of the Central Church of Christ in Shawnee, OK
He earned a Bachelors degree in Mathematics-Education from East Central University and a Masters degree in Mathematics from the University of Oklahoma.
He served two years in the United States Navy and was stationed in Puerto Rico.
Bernard began his teaching career in Seymour, Texas and taught two and half years at Cameron Junior College in Lawton, Oklahoma. From fall through spring of 1962 he was a graduate teaching assistant in the mathematics department at the University of Oklahoma. In the fall of 1962 he began teaching at Otero Junior College in La Junta. Colorado and retired in 1993.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nella Lou, his parents, two sisters Beryl Herriman and Doris Cooper, also brothers Cecil, Keith Allen, Maynard and Darrell Sharp.
Funeral Services were Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at the Walker Funeral Chapel, Walker Funeral Home, Shawnee, OK
